March 3, 2010 Exciting news – just in time for spring! 1) MARCH 31- APRIL 1: full band shows in BOSTON and BROOKLYN!!! 2) APRIL 2, 3, 9, 10: the amazing dancer/ choreographer, CHRIS ELAM, is choreographing a piece to my song ‘DON’T YOU DO ME’ for the 2010 season premiere of his critically acclaimed dance company, MISNOMER DANCE THEATER at SYMPHONY SPACE. If you are in NYC one or both of the first 2 weekends in april, don’t miss this! 3) the wheels are in motion for the SPRING 2010 release of SILVER AND ASH! in january, i drove up to snowy massachusetts and recorded three brand new tracks up at ROUNDER RECORDS’ studio. the inimitable FOGNODE then added his musical magic to two of these new tunes. february was spent writing, designing and churning out limited edition SILVER AND ASH buttons, and trying to stay warm as the sky dumped inches upon inches of snow upon my corner of Brooklyn. over the next few months, we’ll be unveiling a new CLAREBURSON.COM, where we will post (among other things) informative and entertaining videos that give you up close and personal insights into the stories behind the SILVER AND ASH song cycle. The event will feature the songs from Burson’s upcoming release, SILVER AND ASH, as performed by Clare and her band, featuring Adam Levy on guitar (Norah Jones, Jenny Scheinman, Tracy Chapman), Tony Leone on drums (Ollabelle, Levon Helm, Rickie Lee Jones), and Andy Cotton on bass. KATHLEEN EDWARDS has asked me to join her on a string of dates in the MIDWEST this winter!!!! for those of you who don't already know, kathleen is an amazing musician and performer, and her songs are totally sublime! needless to say, i'm THRILLED!! February 8, 2007 Clare was recently interviewed by Michael Krall of WBHM-FM (the public radio station in Birmingham, AL) in support of her upcoming Valentine's Day show with KYLE ANDREWS and RED HEART THE TICKER. The interview includes a live performance of "Let Me Lose Me" from the new CD, THIEVES. The extended interview includes live performances of "Let Me Lose Me" and "Take Good Care", as well as a mix in of "The In-Between". February 7, 2007 Clare is thrilled to announce that she has been awarded one of 12 Six Points Fellowships for Emerging Jewish Artists. This two year fellowship is a partnership of Avoda Arts, JDub Records, and the National Foundation for Jewish Culture. It is made possible with major funding from UJA-Federation of New York. The bulk of the new record has made it into the computer. There are old songs, new songs, the soft rustling of trees, and the deep murmur of passing planes, trains, and automobiles.
